Subjects Gr 8 - 9
At Calico Academy, we pride ourselves in being able to accommodate learners with their individual learning styles. We believe children learn better in classes of 16 or less, with individual attention, and personalised timetables.

The Grade 8 and 9 subjects are: English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, History, Geography, Economical Management Sciences, Art, Technology, and Life Orientation.
FET Subjects (Grades 10, 11, and 12)
Our Grade 10 learners may choose a combination of subjects to best suit their needs, personalities, interests, and future. We believe in opening as many doors as possible for their future, and encourage them to choose their subjects with that same mindset.

Life Orientation, English, and Afrikaans are compulsory subjects in Grade 10, together with either Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy. In addition, students may choose a minimum of three subjects from the following:
Physical Sciences
Religion Studies
Life Sciences
Marine Sciences
Geography
Visual Arts or Art Portfolio
